The ultimate PLATO instrument performance model is PLATOSim, which will be further upgraded during the upcoming development phases. This instrument model is used for performance studies and instrument tests during payload development and for performance monitoring during operation. It has therefore been placed on an equal level to other PMC office activities. It is closely linked to the PPT and will be used within the performance activities among other specialized tools. PLATOSim will also play a major role for monitoring the spacecraft performance in later phases of the mission by the PCOT.
