Role: Coordinator of the PSM WP 127100 “Stellar models of evolved stars”

Paolo Ventura has a considerable experience in the field of small and intermediate mass of stars during the evolutionary phases from the pre-sequence to the white dwarf, including the evolution in giant and asymptotic branch (AGB). His scientific activity includes the description of the stellar populations of globular and open clusters, the calculation of the yields of various chemical species by AGB stars, the production of AGB star dust and their impact on the extinction curve of the host galaxies.

In the PLATO Mission, Paolo Ventura coordinates WP 127100 (“Stellar models of evolved stars”) and has played an active role in the preparatory phase of the model grids to be used for the interpretation of the observations.
