The Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica (INAF) opens an international call to hire a Researcher (III Level), under a full-time and fixed-term contract, to work at The Astrophysical Observatory of Catania (Italy) in the context of project “Instrumental and astrophysical noise sources in photometry and high-resolution exoplanet spectroscopy in preparation for the PLATO mission“.
The researcher is expected to contribute to the activities and support the strategy of the thematic line mentioned above. The researcher should contribute to the development of techniques and algorithms for extracting the exoplanetary signal from light curves and high resolution spectroscopic measurements, taking into account instrumental and astrophysical noise; moreover, he/she should improve techniques for simultaneous analysis of photometric and spectroscopic signals and also support the activities related to the Input Catalog with particular attention to the information on the level of magnetic activity of the sources.
The contract will have a duration of 12 months and could be possibly extended, compatibly with the regulations in force, in consideration of the needs of the research program and in the presence of the necessary financial resources.
