Daniela Sicilia is a postdoctoral researcher at INAF – Osservatorio Astrofisico di Catania. She graduated in Astrophysics from the University of Catania and obtained her PhD in Astronomy from the University of Padova.

Her main research topic is the characterization of exoplanetary atmospheres through high-resolution optical transmission spectroscopy. In addition to the scientific research, she is widely involved in outreach activities. In particular, she is presently working in the maintenance and editing of the website and social media of her institute.

She is part of the observational program GAPS (Global Architecture of Planetary Systems) within which her work is focused on the extraction of transmission spectra of exoplanetary atmospheres and analysis of atomic lines in the visible.

In the framework of the PLATO project, she is member of the Italian PLATO Project Office and assists in the maintenance of the PMC website. She is also involved in outreach dissemination for the Italian side both for the CHEOPS and PLATO space missions.
