Flavia Calderone is a researcher at INAF – Astrophysical Observatory of Catania.
She took the Master Degree in Engineering and a II level Master in Energetics at the University of Catania.
After years of activity in the engineering and design field, she has been working since 2018 at INAF for the PLATO mission and other exoplanets-related projects, such as the ESA’s CHEOPS mission and GAPS (The Global Architecture of Planetary Systems), mainly in Document Configuration & Data Management (CADM) and Project Office activities.
In the framework of the PLATO project, she is the Document Configuration Manager for the Camera System (responsible for del Work Package CPM.1410 “Documentation Management”) and supports the Telescope Optical Units (TOU) Project Office Team as responsible for Document Configuration and Management activities.
In accordance with ECSS standards on Configuration and Project Management (ECSS-M-ST-40C REV-1), CADM Manager’s activities for both working groups focus on the configuration and control of documentation to ensure the correct correspondence between the evolution of hardware identified as “Configured Items” and the documentation that defines their performance and design characteristics throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Furthermore, Project Office and Project Management activities include the production of periodic scientific and economic contractual documentation submitted to the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and related to the entire Italian contribution to the PLATO project.
